Updated: Oct 23, 2020

Hear all about The Ghoul Mates' first couple costume of Freddy VS. Jason and find out how Ghost Hostess Mandy felt about watching Friday the 13th Part I-IV for the first time.

Ghoulster 0:01

Welcome Foolish Ghoulsters to podcast that keeps the spirit of Halloween alive all year through pop culture and nostalgia. And now it's love at first fright with The Ghoul Mates.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 0:17

Hi guys, I'm your Ghost Hostess, Mandy.

Beetlejuice 0:19

I'm the ghost with the most babe.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 0:21

And I'm your Master of Scaremonies, Rudy.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 0:27

So you guys might have noticed a slight little change in our introduction. And I guess I should kind of explain that I know we are only on episode five. But we already received some much appreciated feedback that our podcast immediately turned into something that we had not promised. We kind of touched in the first episode about how we were going to be focusing on our ghoulish love story and how spooky things keep our relationship alive all year and kind of also telling our story and the history of it and how it all ties into Halloween. And I guess part of me felt like people might not want to hear specifically about us, but it turns out you guys do. So here we are. We're going to be kind of trying to switch gears and still kind of reviewing things that we do. But we also want to share more of our lives with you more of our ghoulish love story. So today we're going to have a jam packed episode, we're going to be covering a small recap of her Fight The Horror campaign and all of the support we got from it. We're going to be touching on how we just started watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer for the first time. We're also going to be talking about our favorite spooky little girl Vamparina and we had previously promised that we would be talking more about the different costumes that we had done together. And I thought our Friday The 13th episode would be the perfect time to share all about our Freddy vs. Jason costume, which was actually our first costume together in general, not since we were married. And then at the very end, we'll be going deep into Friday The 13th part one through four.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 2:00

Oh wee I'm excited to talk about Friday The 13th. As you know, Jason Vorhees is my favorite horror character. So I'm pretty excited about this episode.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 2:08

Yep. And I'm a newbie to the whole series. So lots of exciting things to talk about. Okay, so before we get started, I wanted to kind of share that last episode, you guys heard about our Fight The Horror Campaign, and we are absolutely overwhelmed by all the love that it has gotten on Instagram. It has been liked nearly 400 times now as we speak. And it's been shared more than 400 times and we doubled our following within a week, which is not a lot. We started out with about 60 and now we're at past 120. And it doesn't sound like a lot but considering we just started our Instagram less than a month ago, I feel like it's a very positive note for us to continue on. And something that I did mention if anyone's following on Instagram is that we are still trying to find a way to do more with the campaign and put maybe like a fundraiser together that will bring some money in that we could donate to a cause that matches everything that we feel goes with the campaign as far as people educating themselves to make informed decisions and take action. So if anyone is interested in possibly purchasing a $5 sticker with our Fight The Horror Hands on it, please reach out to us and let us know. We're just trying to do the best we can. And unfortunately, we haven't really established ourselves or started any merch shops yet. So it's all a work in progress, but we're willing to kind of get the ball rolling and try to get some stickers created if anyone's interested in trying to help our Fight The Horror cause. So just another huge thank you for all your support, and we can't wait to keep creating more ghoulish content for you all. So moving forward, we're going to be talking about Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 3:58

Oh, yeah, this one's gonna be interesting. I haven't I haven't heard anything about this since the early O's late 90s? I didn't really see the show. I saw the movie. I think it came out in the 80's. And I like that one a lot. I forgot the name of the girl that started it. But it was a really good movie. It kind of was like a funny Lost Boys.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 4:18

Yeah. And that's actually a movie we saw together a while back that I hadn't ever seen before. It was a pretty cool movie. And last night, we were just kind of like, oh, what do we do? We finished Friday The 13th part for but it's not early enough to start a movie, right? We're browsing through Amazon and Hulu. And Buffy came up and we were like, hey, that's like the perfect thing for us to start right now. And we started episode one and there was already a cliffhanger. So we couldn't wait to keep going today with the second episode and something interesting was that Lily from How I Met Your mother's in it.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 4:54

Yeah, that was awesome.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 4:55

So we're super super late on this train, but follow along. Cuz it's gonna be a long, seven season journey for us.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 5:03

Right. So, the original movie premiered in 1992. I thought it was in the 80's but it's '92, and it starred Kristy Swanson and Donald Sutherland so Kiefer Sutherland father. He was also in The Lost Boys. So there's a vampire collective there and that family, in the Sutherland family.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 5:25

And another cool thing is for those of you who watch What We Do In The Shadows, the vampire from the movie right?

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 5:36

Which vampire?

Ghost Hostess Mandy 5:37

The Vampire from Buffy the Vampire Slayer the movie.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 5:38

Yes, yeah. The, the, I think it's Paul Reubens. He also played Peewee Herman so he's in

Ghost Hostess Mandy 5:45

He has a cameo.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 5:46

He has a cameo and What We Do In The Shadows and he's playing the character from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 5:50

Yeah.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 5:51

I lost my 'S' when I saw that. It was awesome. It was really cool. But I really enjoyed the movie. It was really cool. It's one of my favorite ones.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 5:59

I will though for those of you who don't know, because I found this completely surprising when you first start the beginning of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, it actually takes place like right after the movie. It's just that there's a actress changed so I don't know it's gonna be interesting. So stay tuned for more on Buffy. Something I did want to bring up though is that as I've gotten deeper into the spooky community, I'm really surprised that nobody talks about Vampirina. So for those of you who don't know Vamparina is a ghoulish little vampire on Disney. I think she's on Disney Channel. We've been watching it on Disney+, I don't know. Okay, so here here comes our little background stories that I think our show had been missing. So when I was a little kid, when I was afraid, I would watch Disney Channel to kind of fall asleep and feel safe. And the reason was because even if I put it like on a regular TV channel or MTV, there was always that small risk that they'd play previews to like a really scary movie, like Paranormal Activity or something. And then that would scare me. And so Disney Channel is just like my safe haven. And when I met Rudy, it turns out he did something similar.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 7:18

Yeah, this wasn't a secret, but when I think I saw scary movie, I would have I do the same thing. I had to watch something that was Disney related and happy and playful. I think I had watched The Thing, John Carpenter's The Thing, and it scared the crap out of me.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 7:38

Oh I didn't know that part.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 7:40

So I couldn't sleep. So the only thing I could do was, I found a VHS of The Little Mermaid. So I watched that until I fell asleep. So when we first started dating, I told her yeah, I remember when I was a kid, when I would get scared. I would watch The Little Mermaid to calm myself down. Yeah, and thanks for bringing that up by the way.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 8:00

I got your back, Boo. But it was kind of cool because last year when I had my surgery on my leg and I was down for the count I, I don't know I it was the first time in a very long time that I had that uneasy feeling again, like at night, Rudy needed to sleep because he would have to go to work and I just had this like really uneasy feeling. Sometimes I couldn't sleep because like I was in pain. And other times, it's just like, I've been home for weeks. I'm not tired. I can't sleep at night, like nothing. And so I kind of turned to the Disney Channel again. And I remember even in the hospital room, the night that I first got injured. Disney was just kind of like my escape to kind of try to like just pass the hours until the morning with the surgery because I was nervous. And so even Rudy started to catch on and started to develop a little liking for Jessie because that's all they were showing at that time. And then just like remember the good old days when they showed Even Stevens, and Lizzie McGuire, and Suite Life of Zack and Cody, but

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 9:05

I never watched those shows. The Disney that I remember was the Mouseketeers and The Mickey Mouse Club.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 9:14

And i never saw that, we're just worlds away.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 9:17

Worlds away. There was another show called. I think it's called You Can't Do That On Television.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 9:23

What?

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 9:23

No not that one. No, no, it was a real show. I forgot what it was called. But yeah, there was a bunch of other shows. I remember this one Disney show called Mouserciser's? It was like a exercise show.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 9:36

Mousercise?

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 9:37

Yeah. Mousercise.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 9:39

Interesting. Do you work out with Mickey or?

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 9:42

Yeah, Mickey's there's kind of like,

Ghost Hostess Mandy 9:44

Put on your Disney Ears and dance?

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 9:46

I feel bad for the Disney person that was in the costume because to do like aerobics, but then you're inside the suit. That's like, Oh my god, whoever's in there. It's like, probably dying.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 9:59

Yeah. So basically Vampirina is a little vampire. She's part of a little vampire family, and they moved to Pennsylvania from Transylvania, and they have a little ghost and a pet dog that's also turns into a werewolf and a little gargoyle, they're super cute and they live like in a spooky looking house, but then they live in the human neighborhood. And so it's just basically sending a very relevant message right now about how looks don't matter. And it's about the inside that counts. And so she says, if you just get to know her, you'll see she's no different after all, Vamparina.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 10:39

The family are immigrants too so it's also about inclusion. When you you know move from one country to another, you know, the community kind of accepts them even though their culture might be different. That's a that's a good thing that Disney is trying to like portray, which is a you know, very relevant to our times right now.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 10:58

Yeah, for sure. Even taking it a step further. I think that this community of ours is full of a lot of people, including myself, like for years I'm putting up until recently I kind of locked my dark makeup and my dark clothes. And I kind of started to feel like it's not the norm to like the alternative side of things. So it's kind of cool for kids to see that Vampirina exists.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 11:23

You know who, what, before we go any further, I'm convinced that the chef character the skull, or the skeleton is a they modeled it from the skeleton from Beetlejuice.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 11:34

Oh, yes, that's right we talked about that.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 11:37

And he and he's like a chef, and he's a skeleton. He's very French with the waving of the arms. But when I first saw him, I was like, Oh my god, it's like that character from Beetlejuice. And I was like, that's pretty cool. But um, I think it's not the same character, but I think they probably drew from some inspiration from that character.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 11:56

Yeah, I get you and crazy thing. I stumbled upon this information today, because I was trying to find out if the show's been canceled or not. And I found out that the two people who voiced the parents are people that each Rudy and I like, so it kind of it was just mind blowing because I realized, this is why we both actually agree on this kid's show. So the mom is voiced by Lorelei Gilmore, the mom from The Gilmore Girls. Which is actually really funny because she comes out in Zoe's Playlist now,, it's not a ghoulish show, but if anybody likes music and drama, please check it out because it's a really, really good anyway, and then the dad is voiced by

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 12:49

James Vanderbeek.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 12:50

Yup.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 12:52

Mox from Varsity Blues and Dawson's Creek.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 12:57

Rudy is really downplaying his obsession with James Vanderbeek right now.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 13:01

I need a James Vanderbeek show like right away. He was also in that show. Don't Trust The Chick From Apartment 23. Got canceled.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 13:11

Oh, you can say that. I mean that? Oh wait, it really is called that B. Whoops.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 13:17

Yeah, but I guess we'll see if we take that out or not. But yeah, he's in that and he plays himself.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 13:24

Mm hmm.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 13:24

And his character is like the best character out of the whole show. Unfortunately the show had like four episodes and then it got canceled but either episode something like that, or one season, which was like eight episodes something crazy like that. But I want to just I want to show about him and his life being like famous and stuff.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 13:43

He's not even famous though.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 13:45

He's famous in my heart.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 13:46

He's lik a cult. He has like a cult following.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 13:49

I guess. There goes my hero. He will throw touchdowns into my heart any day.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 13:56

Oh my gosh. So yeah. I don't know, I just think Vampirina super underrated and we're gonna make her cool because she's awesome. And we can't get enough of her. And so on that note, there was actually a Summerween event that happened last weekend, right? And part of that event, there was a drawing contest like a little, they gave you a template of a juice box, and then you had to like fill in your own Halloween drawing. And so Rudy's actually taken up a new hobby gonna tell him about that.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 14:30

Yeah, sure. When I was younger, I drew a lot. And I always wanted to be an artist actually told you the story. I remember my parents took us to Disneyland once. And I guess it was part of the California Adventure, like when we barely opened, and they had the animation studio, and you could go in and watch the animators, animators, animators, you know, draw the cells for each cartoon, and I always wanted to do that. Unfortunately, I got older And you know, things change. I studied graphic design a little bit in college. And I was like, you know, this is not what I want to do. And I got into video production and film. And then recently with like, what's happening with the global pandemic, I just been here and I was like, I need to do something else that's creative because I can't just go outside and shoot video. So I started drawing. And I just started just showing Amanda like, Hey, what do you think of this? And that's when she asked me to do the Fight The Horror campaign illustration. So I did that. And then recently, I did the juicebox illustration for this Summerween contest. But yeah, I mean, I, I want to kind of get back into it and see if I can, you know, start drawing like the technology makes it a lot easier now, because I've been drawing on the Adobe Products for the iPad. So when you mess up, you don't get frustrated. You can just kind of like undo or like resize things

Ghost Hostess Mandy 16:00

That's true.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 16:01

And when you when I used to draw it used to be with like ink and pencil and it's very frustrating because sometimes you wouldn't get the dimensions or the proportions right or you would just give up. But now it's just like, Oh, I can just like undo it or like resize it, so it's pretty exciting. So

Ghost Hostess Mandy 16:17

If you guys want to see his Vampirina juice box, you could check it out on our Instagram. I thought it was super cute, and it's made in Transylvania, but I just get so surprised every time with how talented Rudy is. And I'm I'm really excited to see what else comes of this Ghoul Mates adventure.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 16:36

Thanks, Sugar.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 16:38

Okay, so now we're gonna get into the nitty gritty. Okay, so I moved to Arizona from Texas, and I moved over here with Rudy about, oh, my goodness, it's gonna be it's been five years this year, marked five years and so our first year together. We were like, Okay, the first year we were together, we didn't get to spend Halloween together. So this one has to be epic. What are we going to do? And so we kind of had a bunch of different ideas. And I don't even remember how we came to the agreement, but we decided that we would be Freddy vs. Jason.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 17:21

Right. Yeah, we went back and forth, which we usually do

Ghost Hostess Mandy 17:24

Every year.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 17:25

Well, I mean, we're still fighting right now for this Halloween.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 17:28

Okay, so yeah, I I'd be lying if I said I remembered why we chose this, but we did. And so we kind of wanted to do obviously, by we, I mean, me. I wanted to do obviously a corny couple spin to it.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 17:45

Right.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 17:46

And so we decided that it would be more like, we'd look like we had fought each other somehow.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 17:53

Mm hmm.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 17:53

So Rudy, I'm gonna let him get into the specifics of how he designed our costumes because he's crazy. Again, artistic, creative skills. So I told him Oh my god, it would be so cool if you somehow made it seem like you stole my heart like you ripped my heart out of my chest as Freddy because obviously he wanted to be Jason.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 18:14

Oh yeah I forgot about that.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 18:15

And then he was like, yeah, and then he's like, but when we're walking around, sorry, let me backtrack. I'm so bad at telling stories. I'm like Harley Quinn, like starting at one point and jumping back and forth. Okay, so it was our first year together. We didn't know we were gonna do but we heard that there was this like super fancy. So Arizona is full of basically like, the only thing to do here is go to like casino hotels,

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 18:40

Right.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 18:41

They're like, the cool thing to do here. They don't even have to be casinos actually. Like just fancy hotels like that.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 18:47

Yeah. There's a lot of resorts that have a lot of resorts with a lot of open space for for parties and stuff.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 18:55

Yeah. So and we lived in Scottsdale at the time, so of course, everything was expensive and there was like a really fancy Halloween party happening at one of the resorts. And that's where we decided we were gonna go. So he was like, oh, it'll be so cool if you like walk around holding the chain, like if you capture captured me or something. So basically that was the vision for our Wow. Sorry, this episode. The word of the episode is basically using it. I'm sorry, guys. Okay, so anyway, the vision of the costume was that we were gonna be Freddy vs. Jason and we were both gonna look like we had been roughed up a little bit by each other. But Rudy, I mean, Jason ripped my heart out of my chest because he stole my heart. But then I captured him and had him in chains all night, so I'm gonna let it take over on how he put the costumes together for us.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 19:50

Yeah, I think originally what I wanted to do was have you as a camp counselor from Camp Crystal Lake.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 19:59

Oh, Yeah,

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 20:00

And then you're like, Oh, that's kind of lame. Okay, it's like why don't you just be Freddy Krueger, we can be Freddy vs. Jason and she's like how're we gonna do that. So I laid it out. I was like, you know, we'll get you a hat and I'll do your makeup, and then we'll get you the claws and stuff. And yeah, she loved it.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 20:16

But of course, I didn't want to be and you'll learn this too have our Rudy with his accuracy. Like he doesn't like I don't remember if we talked about this in the first episode. He doesn't like hot versions of characters. And so when I told him Well, I want to be a hot Freddy Krueger like who wants to be an ugly Freddy Krueger as a girl? And he's like, that's not the point like free cougars not hot like I don't like it when girls dress up as a hot whatever it is. And then I we recently had this conversation and I was like, you're like the only guy who's ever complained about hot girls. And what did you say? I thought it was pretty clever. And that's why I love you.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 20:53

What did I say? Halloween is my day. Girls can be hot whenever they want to.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 20:58

Yes, pretty much he was Like I could see how it girls any other day of the year, like, Halloween should be real.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 21:05

Halloween is about Halloween.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 21:07

I'm a hot chick, duh. No, so that was our argument because I didn't want to look ugly and he was like, I don't understand like Freddy Krueger's ugly and it would be cool. Like, in a way he thought it would be hotter if I was willing to look ugly on Halloween.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 21:25

True.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 21:25

And so we compromised on me doing like a half quotation. Sexy, half burnt Freddy Kreuger.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 21:31

Compromise.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 21:32

So yeah, so that's what we compromised on. And then it got even more complicated. Remember, this was my first year with Rudy, so I didn't know what I was getting myself into. He had us going to every freaking store in Arizona to hunt down the correct pieces. Like my costume couldn't just be like the cheap Freddy Kreuger hand it had to be like the deluxe glove. Because he on top of that it had to be the deluxe club. And then he still wanted to do

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 22:05

We got two gloves, right?

Ghost Hostess Mandy 22:06

Yeah, the one I think one came standard with the costume I bought and you were like, no, this is the cheap hand and you need to get the deluxe one so that it looks real. And you were like, this is our first costume. Do you want it to be legit? And then on top of that the deluxe one still wasn't enough. He still had to do his little special effects stuff to it. So I don't remember what you did.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 22:28

I remember we got the sweater. I don't know where we got the sweater. I think we got it at Spirit? And I put a hole in your chest. So it looked like I ripped your heart out of your chest.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 22:40

Mm hmm.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 22:41

And then I had gotten Jason mask and then I put scratches on it like you had scratched my face. So those are the the two main things that I did. And I think I'm like a heart tpo like we got a heart.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 22:56

Yeah, you made you. I don't remember how you made it but you put it so you literally guys there's like a knot it's not a prosthetic piece but there's like a piece that goes that's glued to the sweater.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 23:10

Oh yeah

Ghost Hostess Mandy 23:11

We'll post pictures of this because you gotta see it.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 23:13

With the bones right?

Ghost Hostess Mandy 23:14

Yeah he made it look like the bones were showing through the sweater but I remember the glove you still did something to it you like wanted it to look like used or something.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 23:27

I think I just added like blood to it and kind of maybe added some paint to it to kind of look like it was

Ghost Hostess Mandy 23:34

Rusted?

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 23:34

Rusted. Yeah, something like that. Um, what else did we do? I wanted to get a rubber mask to put over my head to go over. So I could put the Jason mask on top of it because you know Jason is disfigured. But we kind of ran out of time and

Ghost Hostess Mandy 23:51

and it added up quickly.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 23:54

I also I like to do this with my masks. I'll get Um, like really thin socks or like pantyhose black ones. And I put them over the eyes, like tape them. So you can see through the mask if there's a person or somebody looking at you so you just standing there and you have no idea if I'm looking at you, it makes even creepier because, you know you get if you see somebody's eyes you're like, Oh, that's that's fine. It's he's just wearing a mask but if you can't see somebody's eyes, you know, the eyes are the gateway to your soul. And you can't see them like it's creepier.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 24:31

Yeah.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 24:32

But we also like distressed most of our costumes, we just kind of like roughed him up with like a cheese grater and a knife and then I burned some edges and then I put him on the bag and I drew some water in there with dirt and stuff tickled grimy and stuff so I think I used charcoal ashes to on your stuff to make it look burnt.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 24:52

Yeah, you really did. And then I remember you also made me painting part of my her gray. So it could be like I had really been in smoke, okay, but this is the one part I remember the most so you guys will see pictures of my makeup on Instagram. But Rudy did all of the actual Freddy Krueger side of my face. And unfortunately this was before I learned anything about how to do real makeup. So my makeup was pretty basic for the pretty side. But the side he had I remember he was doing it. And I've never done like special effects makeup before. So I had no idea what I was getting myself into, like he used like real latex, the whole shebang, everything. Right?

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 25:37

Right.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 25:37

And he was going through it and he's like, it doesn't look burnt enough. And I was like, What are you what are you gonna? I was really expecting him to say like, let me burn the latex on your face.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 25:48

Yeah.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 25:49

But then he did the coolest thing ever, which makes me think like, maybe you guys might want a real tutorial from him soon. He went and he got coffee grounds from the kitchen.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 26:00

Oh yeah that's right.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 26:01

And he like shoved it into like the makeup so that it could look burnt.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 26:06

Yeah, I think I mixed latex with the coffee grounds because the coffee grounds had like this kind of crystal hard texture when it dried with the latex so it's already dark. And then it's all like bumpy and like crusty.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 26:20

Yeah.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 26:21

And all you have to do is add some blood to it and it looks like burnt.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 26:24

Yeah. So it was like a mixture of latex toilet paper.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 26:28

I use some toilet paper to make like, like wrinkled skin around where the burn wood had stopped. So it's kind of like that, that meeting between skin and burnt parts. So

Ghost Hostess Mandy 26:44

yeah, it was interesting. And so

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 26:47

just watching a lot of Tom Savini and Rick Baker and all those guys doing the makeup on like Dawn of the Dead, Friday The 13th you know, just watch all those things and always give you ideas on how to do stuff. Yeah, yeah, I've always wanted to do something in Hollywood special effects makeup was in there too at some point.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 27:06

Yeah. So we went to the party and I was like, What are people gonna say about us? Because like, we looked pretty legit, in my opinion. And people kind of were afraid. Yeah, like people would look at us, but no, but you could tell like people didn't want to come up to us. And I think a lot of it had to do with where we were at, of course, because we were like at a high end Halloween party, where there were a lot of sexy costumes.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 27:34

I did actually take a lot of pictures with girls. And then there Yeah, and then you got mad and you like would tug on my neck with the chain. Yeah, you did. I was like, whoa. I'm just glad that that chain was plastic. It wasn't real.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 27:51

So we danced a little bit there, but we ultimately got bored because the drinks were ridiculously expensive. They were like $20 a drink after you had already paid an entrance fee

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 28:01

And they weren't good either.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 28:01

Yeah, which is a common problem in Scottsdale. But yeah, so we ended up going to this random dive bar in Old Town Scottsdale. And that party was bumping.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 28:13

I'm all reacting like, this is the first time because it's been so long. It's just been so long since since we've been outside.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 28:20

I know that they had like a block party and they had a DJ outside and then they had more affordable drinks outside too. And I think they were having a costume contest, but we didn't stay for that. But it was just fun. And I honestly, I hate going dancing nowadays, because it's like never the right music that you want to listen to. Like, I just I like dancing to like pop music and latin music. And that's just not what I ever find anymore nowadays, and that music was spot on and you will see a clip of me dancing and it's perfect with my face. So you have to check it out because it's amazing. And there's also going to be clips of Rudy dancing as Jason which our must see as well. And so overall it was a really fun night and then we ended up going to a friend's Halloween party after that we like wanted anyone in everyone to see all the hard work we had put into our costumes.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 29:19

Yeah, we almost didn't go to that party cuz it's pretty far.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 29:22

It was really far. So after the party, we ended up at our favorite place to eat which was Whataburger. And that night is something I will never forgive you for.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 29:34

What did I do during whataburger?

Ghost Hostess Mandy 29:36

You ripped my face off.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 29:39

I just wanted to pull the band aid off because I'm pretty sure it was bothering you while you're eating and plus, you had a few drinks in you and I didn't think there was gonna be a problem.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 29:46

It hurt. Oh my god, I'm never gonna forget like the betrayal. Because you were like, Oh, it's just

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 29:56

It's because, okay. I remember now it had been coming off already. So the was just like a little piece left to come off.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 30:03

But you ripped it off without warning.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 30:06

You're fine now you don't have like a scar or anything, its just latex.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 30:10

I told people on Monday at work, and they were like, Oh my god, let's see, do you have any hairs left on your face? And so because of that now you're never gonna get to put latex on my face again.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 30:26

We'll see. The more Halloween stuff we do, eventually, it's gonna get to that point, we're gonna have to put latex on your face.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 30:33

If I broke three bones, I can handle getting my face peeled off again right?

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 30:37

Next time. I'll make sure that I take it off properly the next day.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 30:42

Actually, that that latex you pulling off my face continues to haunt me to this day because tell them what you like doing when I also had my surgery. You're a weirdo.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 30:55

So, um, she got these wicked stitches. upper leg which was pretty crazy. And I had to wrap her ankle like every day or every other day.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 31:08

Clean it and wrap it.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 31:09

Clean it disinfect it, but then it started healing up and then they took the stitches out, but there's still a lot of scabs. So I loved taking off, like the scabs off her leg because they're so gigantic, like almost potato chip size.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 31:25

Oh my god. You're so weird.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 31:27

And then the smaller ones, I would get some tweezers, and I would just like slowly pull them off,

Ghost Hostess Mandy 31:34

But he terrified me because I never trusted him after he ripped the Freddy mask off my face. So I was always scared that you were gonna just like all of a sudden rip off the entire thing of scabs all the way down my poor leg.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 31:48

I would never do that.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 31:50

Wouldn't you though?

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 31:51

No, because I wouldn't have been able to enjoy the rest of them later. I'm not gonna waste it all on one little tear.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 32:02

Okay, so that is enough about Freddy vs. Jason our costume.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 32:09

You think I'll make a comeback? You think we'll do an updated version of that costume? Eventually?

Ghost Hostess Mandy 32:14

I don't know.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 32:16

Are you one of those that you can't like rewear costume?

Ghost Hostess Mandy 32:19

No, I'll rewear costumes. But I think I'm still afraid of you doing that to me. Like at a certain point we are just going to have to put-

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 32:29

I gave you the option to be the camp counselor and you did not want to. So, that's your own fault.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 32:35

I think I would probably want to do it again. Because now that I know how to do makeup, I would know how to do like the pretty side better.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 32:44

Right.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 32:44

And then I think you would even probably do know how to do an even better Freddy side.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 32:49

Right.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 32:50

Okay, so that is enough about costumes because we promised you and we're almost at the end of our episode. See, you told us to talk about ourselves and now we can't stop talking about ourselves.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 33:01

We're like, okay, we're done with it. Go to episode six if there even is one.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 33:08

Okay, so Friday The 13th Part One.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 33:12

How good was that movie? The first one. You was, you weren't expecting that, huh.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 33:17

Oh my gosh. Okay, so I have always seen different parts of Friday The 13th never together again. I have terrible memory. So my brain never connected anything. And it's really funny because last year, my nephew was having a 12th birthday party for Friday The 13th and he hasn't seen it. He just thought Friday The 13th was cool because his birthday landed on Friday the 13th.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 33:42

but it wasn't Friday The 13th, Friday The 13th.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 33:45

It was like the legend, like the what is it called?

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 33:50

I guess the urban legend of how-

Ghost Hostess Mandy 33:53

Like don't go under a ladder.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 33:55

Friday the 13th is there's weird stuff that happened. So all the things we're like have to do bad luck.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 34:00

Yes, like bad omens.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 34:03

And me I was like, Oh, that's awesome. I'm gonna dress up as Jason and scare all the kids and she's like, that's not what he's talking about. And I got all super bummed out.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 34:12

Yeah. We were talking about that. And I and I had told him like, Hey, have you seen Friday The 13th? Like, are you sure you don't want it to be about that? And then he's like, No, it's too scary. And in my head. I was like, come on. You're 12 years old. Like it's not that scary. He's fake. And then I saw movies, and I was like, yeah, this is inappropriate for a 12 year old.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 34:33

Nudity alone is inappropriate for kids.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 34:35

Yeah which increasingly gets worse through each movie. Okay, I have a lot of things about the progression about it. But first and foremost, before anyone continues, this will be filled with tons of spoilers.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 34:48

Obviously.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 34:48

A lot of spoilers. Um, I'm just going to jump in. So we saw the first one

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 34:56

Right.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 34:57

And I'm not gonna lie, I was freaking bored I was like, this is really slow like when the hell is he gonna come out? Like, is this even a Jason movie? Are you pranking me? And then, like, what the last 30 minutes It feels like,

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 35:12

Right.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 35:13

We find out who the real killer is in the movie.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 35:15

It picks up once they start, the campers are getting killed.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 35:22

It does, but even then it's like someone gets killed. And then there's a drag and then someone gets killed.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 35:28

I think what happens is, I think the last person is left and they're trying to like escape, but then they start stumbling upon all the people that get killed.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 35:36

Mm hmm.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 35:37

So that's like when it starts to pick up. Yeah, and go ahead.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 35:41

So Jason doesn't come out in Friday The 13th Part One. That's your little bomb of truth. Apparently.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 35:52

I wanted to see that reaction so bad. More so than the reaction of Deep Blue Sea when Samuel L. Jackson gets eaten by the shark, which I didn't get to see, but I just wanted to see her look. It's like, where's Jason?

Ghost Hostess Mandy 36:06

And I kept asking too the whole movie. I was like, so is he ever gonna come out or what? He wouldn't tell me anything. And then even when, okay, so spoiler alert. It's Jason's mom, who's the killer in the first one. So even when you see the mom the first time, you're still like, What the F-? You're like, what the beep Where's Jason? Because he just never comes out. And it's his mom. His mom is the freaking psycho. That's killing everyone. And so then I'm like, can you please order me a blue sweater on Amazon right now? Thank you.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 36:52

She's a pretty badass. She's a bad ass killer. There's not very many female killers. I'm pretty sure there are. We just need to kind of look look for them.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 37:00

But not like famous.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 37:02

Not famous ones.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 37:04

So yeah, I don't know. I'm like really excited to make it a look this winter. Mrs. Vorhees.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 37:09

There you go. We have the chain and the Jason costume to be pulling around.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 37:15

Maybe that's something we can do. But I have to say that if I'm gonna be anyone from the Jason movies, it's gonna be the girl from part three.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 37:24

Okay, we'll get to that later.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 37:25

Okay, so part one, boom shooketh. Could not believe it. Mind blown. You know, okay, but you know, what blows my mind the most is that looking back at it, like he's such a legend. Right? And it's like that movie was so good on its own. That Mrs. Vorhees alone carried it on to become Jason the Jason that you know, it's crazy. It's such a good movie.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 37:58

Okay, did you know actually a fun fact that Jason or the Friday The 13th Horror franchise was the highest grossing franchise up until 2018 when the new Halloween came out. So it was the most popular horror franchise for that long since 2018 since it started.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 38:18

That's interesting. Wait so the Halloween we saw is the one that finally-

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 38:23

Pushed the Halloween series over the edge.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 38:25

Oh, that's crazy.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 38:27

Friday The 13th held the crown.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 38:29

That's interesting.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 38:30

So it's been like the best like horror franchise ever for a very long time.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 38:35

But do you know if like someone they made the first one? Did they know if they made another one? It was going to become Jason with the hockey mask?

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 38:45

I don't know. I don't think so.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 38:48

That's just so crazy to me.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 38:50

He has a mask but it's not a hockey mask.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 38:52

Right. So let's get into the second one. So part two, really was like are you sure you don't want to stay up and watch part two because Jason comes out. Little liar. You tricked me. So we watch part two. And again, I'm like, where's Jason? And you're like, I promise he's gonna come out. So then I watch the whole movie again. And I have to say, again, it kind of was draggy at the beginning. And then, at the end, you see a new type of Jason, which is the real Jason, but he pops through a window. Wait, is that when he's wearing it?

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 39:34

The hockey mask?

Ghost Hostess Mandy 39:35

No, the sack.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 39:37

He's wearing a second the second one but yeah, he pops out. And he's wearing a sack.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 39:42

Yeah, but and then why do you see his hair though? Do they pull it off?

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 39:46

Yeah, I think so.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 39:48

So it's really creepy. He's wearing like a potato sack.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 39:51

Yeah, has like one eye hole.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 39:53

And which is really cool, though. Like I have to admit, I like that look a lot and I think that's the look that you should do one day because it's really cute. He's wearing a little flannel shirt and overalls,

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 40:03

Right.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 40:03

I just want to hug him.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 40:05

Yeah, I think. Yeah, I think at the end, they pull it off because they wanted to see what he looked like.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 40:11

Yeah.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 40:11

After they knock him out.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 40:13

And then it's weird because he has crazy hair. And then the way it's shot makes it seem like there's two people which was confusing.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 40:21

Oh yeah, there was some, just a little filmmaking mistake. I think they cross the axis. You can't, you know, put the camera on one side and then jump that line. Otherwise, it's gonna look like it's the same, there's two people in the same shot. It's really weird, but it was just a little mistake. But I got confused too. When I first saw that I was like, so there's two people in there? Are there two Jasons?

Ghost Hostess Mandy 40:46

Yeah. But that was pretty cool. So it took up until then the movie again to see Jason and it still wasn't the Jason we know. But it was pretty cool and I like the look, I want to add it to your list of future costumes.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 41:04

You know what I what I noticed about the movies because I hadn't seen him in a long time too. And I started like paying more attention to them. Jason doesn't just use a machete through the series

Ghost Hostess Mandy 41:17

That's true.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 41:18

He is using a lot of different weapons to kill his victims. Which I thought it was cool. I don't think it's the until the third one that he uses the machete and it's on one victim, the guy in the wheelchair.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 41:32

Yeah, I was pretty surprised to about the way he kills the victims differently. And I want to say I don't remember in which part it was, but it was part I think it was part two. I was like he goes way easier on the guys than he does on the girls but then that changed in another movie, but when one of the movies I was like, really? That guy got off all easy and the girls get tortured so bad.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 41:53

Oh, yeah.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 41:54

So then we jump into part three. Oh my gosh. I want to see-

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 42:03

3D. That music though from part three.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 42:03

I know the music is so corny. I'm like did they forget this was a horror movie?

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 42:10

I think that I think because it was 3D and they're looking for to get a new audience like to spruce it up. But they had some kind of weird like funky Disco song which did not match the franchise. It was super weird.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 42:28

Yeah, it was kind of strange, but I have to say that I think so far from the four movies. This one's my favorite.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 42:37

Okay.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 42:39

Do you want me to tell them?

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 42:40

Tell them.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 42:40

Okay.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 42:41

I mean I've seen them. So I want to I want to hear what you have to say. We kind of briefly talked about it after and you're just like shocked most of the time.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 42:48

I am I'm just like so many things I never expected. Okay, so this is the one where you finally get the Jason Voorhees everybody knows

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 42:58

Right.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 42:59

But the way you get it is so freakin cute. I'm such a weirdo. I know.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 43:04

Rest in peace, Shelly.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 43:05

I know. Okay, so there's this misunderstood guy in this movie called Shelly. And he likes to scare people because he thinks that he's ugly and he's not a catch so the only way to get attention is to scare girls. And so he likes to wear this hockey mask. And so unfortunately, actually, funny thing about him is he likes to play dead and then when he actually is dead, nobody beleives it.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 43:06

The boy who cries wolf.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 43:33

Yeah, but anyway, Jason ends up taking Shelly's mask and a legend is born. And so that just made Jason even more special to me because like seeing the progression, and then I was in love with Shelly's character, I genuinely didn't want him to die. So it was pretty cool that he's the person

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 43:55

Right.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 43:55

Who I guess made Jason who he is.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 43:59

You know what I found out recently. The chili is in the Friday The 13th Game. Like he's a playable character you can hide from Jason as him so when we're done with this we should play.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 44:13

That's so cool. Long live Shelly we need to make some kind of like sticker or something about Shelly.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 44:20

Yeah, like, illustration of him all somber and we put like We Remember Shelly

Ghost Hostess Mandy 44:28

Shelly Vorhees

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 44:29

Shell-, Shelley.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 44:31

Oh.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 44:32

What?

Ghost Hostess Mandy 44:33

Oh my god, you need to make me a shirt that has the Jason the hockey mask and then it says my heart belongs to Shelly.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 44:41

And then Jason has curly hair like him.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 44:45

That's a look. Okay. And then we move on to Par.t No, wait, wait, I'm not done with part three. I love okay. Yeah, I definitely love. No, the girl was a badass.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 45:00

Yeah, I think she was the only one that was smart and try to outsmart the killer instead of just like, run adn fall everywhere.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 45:08

Yeah, she fought him. She was a total badass.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 45:12

I don't know where that horror trope has come from where the girl just runs away and just starts falling everywhere and they like eventually catch them because in the Jason movies, they've either not helped out and just did there or they fight back. So I don't know where that trope comes from, where they just run away and then the killer eventually gets to them. But I did like that the girl fought back and she tried to like be smart about it.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 45:38

Yeah, it was pretty cool. And that's why I told you so this. This is a costume idea because she ends up hanging him.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 45:46

Oh, yeah.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 45:47

With what is that thing?

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 45:49

I think they're in a barn and they have like a kind of like a winch, I guess to bring up the hay to the top of the barn.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 45:56

Yeah.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 45:57

She wraps a rope around him and then she puts him off and he gets, you know, hung.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 46:04

Yeah. So that's what I was saying. I was like, if we do any character, it should be you with that rope around your neck and then me, the survivor.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 46:15

Might be politically incorrect though. If we go to parties with a noose around my neck.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 46:19

I know.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 46:20

Maybe we will just keep the chain.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 46:23

Okay, so now we move on to part four.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 46:26

I think part three and part four my favorites. Maybe I lean a little bit more towards part four.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 46:32

Why?

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 46:33

Because he's more of the traditional Jason that people know.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 46:37

He's already like, The Jason.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 46:39

Yeah, he's like that unstoppable killing machine. That doesn't matter what you do to him, like he keeps just keep going and going and going. And his his kills are a lot more brutal. There's a guy that I think he's like, he does the autopsies. And he's gonna do the autopsy and Jason but he comes back to life and kills that guy.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 46:59

Mm hmm.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 46:59

He gets like a bone saw and like, cuts his throat.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 47:02

Oh yeah.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 47:03

Pretty much rips his head off. And I was like, Whoa, that was hardcore. Funny thing, the guy that gets killed, he's actually in Police Academy, which I thought was tickled my stomach and made me laugh because I'm like Police Academy we won't go there but that kill was insane. And then the rest of them were just really crazy.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 47:23

Yeah. And then so there was like a scene where there's like a group of teenagers in the house. And it was very confusing to me because they were like all switching partners and

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 47:34

Oh, yeah, that was weird. Crispin Glover was in it too.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 47:36

Oh I wanna be with you. And then someone else was like, No, I want to be with this person. And then they like swapped couples and then and anyway, it didnt matter because they all ended up dead.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 47:44

Yeah, they were just there to like hook up and smoke dope. Crispin Glover is in it. The dad from Back to the Future which was crazy.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 47:51

Hey you, get your damn hands off her.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 47:53

Get your damn hands off her.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 47:54

It would be great if he said that to Jason.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 47:56

I know. Right. Oh.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 47:57

We should make a clip.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 48:00

Yeah.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 48:01

So at the end of Friday 13th the 13th Part Four. There is a little kid throughout the movie who likes making like masks and he's into weird stuff. I guess they never really explained why he's like so handy and also into making these masks.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 48:17

I think it's just a hobby of his that, you know, he wants to, you know, like me wanting to go into like Hollywood special effects. I think that's what it was.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 48:26

It was also a missed opportunity, because I thought he was gonna wear one of those masks at a certain point.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 48:31

Yeah, I think maybe. I think they were trying to go in that direction, but it would have taken too long to explain him doing all the makeup to like, look like a younger Jason.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 48:42

Yeah.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 48:43

So yeah, I think they just did what they had to do.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 48:47

Yeah, so sorry. I went off there a little to confuse you guys, apparently. So this little kid ends up defeating Jason by shaving his head like spur of the moment and it looks really weird. He has like little splotches on his head still, and he pretends to be Jason, a little kid to mess with his head again. And then once he kills Jason, he seems, it appears that he sees Jason's hand moving still. So he goes crazy, like killing and killing.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 49:18

He wants to make sure he's dead.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 49:19

Yeah. And so you can tell that the sister thinks that there's a chance that her brother went crazy and shouldn't have been like that addicted to killing him at the end. But then you also get the sense that the kid turned evil and he likes it. And now he thinks he's Jason, which now makes sense with the masks because maybe it's like, he was fascinated with pretending to be Jason. Um, oh, see the next one. So, I don't know. I thought that that was interesting. But I still have to say part three was my favorite because this one was kind of like boring too. In the beginning. part three was the only one that picked up like right off the bat.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 49:58

Right.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 49:58

And was like, oh, This is a solid movie.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 50:01

How are those recaps too. Like the recaps in every movie at the beginning? That's like an old thing they dont do anymore.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 50:06

That's great for people like me because I saw all the movies within a week and I still was like, what happened in the last one?

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 50:12

Watching the movies with you was awesome. Just watching your eyes light up, like what is going on here?

Ghost Hostess Mandy 50:18

And I was really upset too. I was like, when is he gonna come out? This is driving me crazy. Okay, so Whew, that was a long episode. Very different. I think a lot about ourselves. I feel like maybe now we need to reel it in a little and might be a balance. So I apologize, but let us know. Maybe you liked hearing that much from us.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 50:43

We're pretty lovable, so we might get some good feedback on this one. I know that I'm lovable.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 50:48

Jeez. Um, so with that being said, though, next week, we're gonna switch gears completely and try something different. And we're going to talk about ghosts.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 51:00

Oh man, like in movies or like real ghosts?

Ghost Hostess Mandy 51:06

In general. Okay, because that's a big part of our relationship too. Like, I'm afraid because you don't believe in the things I'm afraid of.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 51:15

So you believe in ghosts?

Ghost Hostess Mandy 51:16

Yes.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 51:17

Oh, geez. I remember when you first told me I felt like Jim when he first found out that Pam believed in ghosts, and he thought he would that she was playing around, but it was true and he was like really disappointed.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 51:31

I was always terrified.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 51:32

I'm not disappointed but you really really belive in ghosts?

Ghost Hostess Mandy 51:38

Um, yes.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 51:38

We're alreadymarried so it's okay. I won't dump you or anything.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 51:42

Okay, so I was always afraid I was gonna end up marrying a guy who didn't frickin believe that's scary shit is happening in the house. And you're gonna be that guy. You're gonna be like, it's just in your head. It was the dogs or something. It's from another dimension, but it's not a ghost. How does that make any sense either. Oh my god,

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 52:01

We'll get into it next episode.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 52:03

So we'll be talking about ghosts, and that might spiral into some of our other fears. Or should I say my fears.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 52:11

I have some fears too.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 52:12

Might talk a little bit about my sleep paralysis? Or might save it for another episode. I'm not sure how it's gonna turn out, but we're not gonna be really reviewing any movies. We're gonna be talking about ghosts.

Master of Scaremonies Rudy 52:27

You mean the fiction of ghosts? Yeah, we're gonna be talking about the fiction of ghosts.

Ghost Hostess Mandy 52:30
